Super Mario Bros. 2 (known as Super Mario USA in Japanese, and Super Mario 2 in Super Mario Advance) is the second game in the Super Mario series outside Japan. It is a 2D platforming game originally released for the Nintendo Entertainment System in North America on October 9, 1988. Super Mario Bros. 2 is an action platformer game for the Nintendo Entertainment System. The game was based on a Family Computer Disk System game called “Yume Koujou: Doki Doki Panic”.

Super Mario Bros. 2 is played linearly through 7 worlds and 20 stages. It is possible, however, to warp ahead if you know the locations of the secret warp zones. Super Mario Advance exclusive notes will be marked like so: Super Mario Advance.
The game keeps track of how many times you select each character. The character (or characters) who is chosen most often is given special recognition at the end of the game. If you manage to use all four characters exactly five times, you can earn recognition for every character. In addition to helping you complete the tougher sections of this game, this walkthrough will also recommend which character you should use in order to take advantage of each character's strengths, as well as to have every character recognized.
