To fill your database with chess games go to TOOLS/IMPORT PGN FILES. Then find your PGN files on your computer and import (load) them into your database. A Python library for parsing pgn files into a python friendly format. The parser is built using canopy, the rest is Python. The PGN spec is based on (and thanks to) the spec at saremba.de. Setup Installing. Make sure you have python 3 installed. Pip install pgnparser Then import like so: from pgnparser import pgn, parser Testing.

Do I need a chess program?
No, the files are a textual file in the .pgn format and basically every chess website has the possibility to read the .pgn file. Although having a chess software definitely helps.
But I don’t have Chessbase, what can I do?
I would suggest downloading ChessBase Light 2009 which is free. There is no other way of converting .cbv files into .pgn.

Do I have to pay anything?

What is your motivation behind it?
Look, I love chess, I love analyzing chess games and I like promoting our ancient game. I analyze chess games basically the whole time, so I thought, perhaps someone else might find my work useful as well.
